Goals
These goals stem from the belief that health and well-being arise from a multifaceted and often unpredictable interconnection of various factors at the individual, community, organizational, and societal levels.
Cultural Change
Facilitate a shift in culture at UCSC to promote well-being by embracing and enhancing elements like the practices, policies, protocols, people, and philosophies that positively contribute to health. Simultaneously, work to reduce or eliminate aspects of campus culture that hinder health and well-being.
Commitment and Continuity
Ensure unwavering dedication and sustained effort towards the advancement of our mission and objectives over time, fostering a culture of ongoing commitment and consistency across all levels of UCSC.
Connection and Community
Boost, broaden, and raise awareness of opportunities for student, staff, and faculty involvement at UCSC that promote well-being factors such as belonging, happiness, resilience, self-awareness, and self-confidence. Additionally, support living and leading in alignment with individual values.

Thank you!
UCSC is fortunate to have had several leaders across the country who helped shape and guide our initial work. We would like to extend a special thank you to the Georgia Institute of Technology for their valuable contributions, from which we borrowed, with permission, to formulate our goal statements.
